The Absence
By Cory S.N. LaViska
February 2004
The night has fallen as it does
Upon the weary day
I close my eyes and drift to sleep
My worries fade away
But as I dream I can’t shut out
The thought of what is missing
The warm embrace of loving arms
The hugging and the kissing
My memory reminds me of
The great times that we’ve had since
These lonely tears that fill my eyes
Reflected off your absence
