About the Author
I have a unique personality, but I suppose you can say that about anyone. In general, I’m very blunt and somewhat cynical. (That’s not negativity, though, it’s just honesty.) On a really good day, I can almost always find the positive side of things. On not-so-good-days, I don’t really care enough to be bothered to look. Objectiveness? Apathy? Call it what you will. I just want to live life and enjoy it as much as I can. That’s a simple enough goal, isn’t it?
Sometimes I’m funny and I’m seldom serious, but I have my moments. There is a hidden side of me that few people get to see, but it’s definitely there. I guess you could call it my sensitive side. When I’m dwelling in solitude, this is who I rely on to sort my thoughts and figure out the rest of the world.
Ambitions & Aspirations
Everyone says it’s a good idea to plan things out. I find that the more goals I plan for, the less they come true. I’m really OK with that, because that means I can stop worrying about all the details and just go with the flow. There are, of course, a couple of things that I would really like to accomplish in the next few years.
First and foremost is finishing my Bachelor’s Degree. I’m finally back on track and I anticipate completing it by the end of next year (or possibly sooner). I currently hold an Associate’s degree and have over 150 college credits. Let’s call this a major milestone, because I attended my first collegiate class when I was 16.
Oddly enough, my next priority is to have kids — ideally a little girl (“Autumn Taylor”) and a little boy (name TBA). Adoption is also a consideration, but preferably after I have one of my own blood. I’m indifferent about the concept of marriage, but at this point I think I would prefer a lifelong companion, bound by love and trust, over a wife that’s attached to me because of a legal doctrine. The rebel in me says that it’s also kind of thrilling to have children with a girl you’re not married to, although I realize this may be irresponsible and risky. But, if you truly find the “right one”, these become nothing more than minor details. Either way, I will eventually find the right one, and we might even get married.
I would like to establish a successful business that allows me to collaborate with intelligent, talented designers and developers all over the world. I don’t want to be rich, but I don’t want to worry about money, either. Ultimately, I would like to travel a few times a year, attending (and possibly speaking at) Web conferences across the globe.

Sometimes I write sweet things. I like country music. One of my cats thinks he’s human. I love playing pool. I don’t smoke. I make kick-ass iced tea. I love working on the Web. I have a passport. There is a Hello Kitty poster in my office at work. I like running (but not when it’s hot outside). I have two middle names. I only drink socially. I’ve raised at least 20 rats in my lifetime. I write poetry on occasion. My favorite country artists are Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, and Garth Brooks. I was born at 9:42am. I still feel like I’m 18 years old. I never want to grow up, and often wish that I were five again.
